Do you know what you're saying?

Today the boys' friend Marcom came over to play. Max was telling Marcom that he was going to try eating spicier foods so he could live in Louisiana some day (Nate told Max he couldn't go to LSU if he couldn't eat spicy food because there is lots of Cajun cooking down there). Marcom's parents were missionaries so he has lived lots of cool places. Marcom told Max he could never live in Thailand if he didn't like spicy food. He then proceded to list all the places he had been, "China, Thailand, etc." Max's response, "Well, I've been to Nebraska."

On the way to hang out with some girls tonight I ran into Acambaro with Jack to pick up some cheese dip. There was a bench outside the door. Jack was pointing to the bench and counting. Jack: "Look, Mom. Six people could sit on this bench."
Me: "Well, 6 people if they had really little bottoms because that's not a very big bench."
Jack: "Max, Grant, Marcom and me could all sit on the bench together because we have little bottoms. You're the only one with a big bottom."

I could have told him he was about to have a red bottom if he kept up with that talk but instead I just nodded. No need to add fuel to that fire.

Jack's Dinner Monologue

Jack started off dinner a little upset because he wanted to pray "sirst" but Grant got to. It didn't slow him down though. Head bowed, "Thank you for mommy and daddy and their wife and for Parker." We were eating green beans. He said, "Mommy these make me big like Jack in the Bean Stoff." We were also eating pheasant (from Nate's hunting trip that his dad had brought over). Nate apparently had a bb in his piece of pheasant and ended up spitting the whole bite out onto his plate because he couldn't locate it in his mouth. Gross, I know. Jack looked at him and said, "Daddy! We don't spit sood out onto our plates!" Nate was trying to explain why he had done it and showed Jack the bb. Jack exclaimed, "These are from real birds?! Eagles are birds! Eagles sly like this" and proceded to spread his arms out flapping them like wings.

If only he had talked about shishing with his shishing cole and not sucking his thumb when he turns "sour" it would have been perfect.

Students of the Month

Max and Grant were both Students of the Month in December. The character trait awarded was compassion (now we're going to work carrying that compassion over when they're with each other at home).

The Student Council also wore elf hats that day. Max was living up his goofiness.

My little G-man. So proud.

Grant and Mrs. Shaw (it's her first year teaching. I think they put G in her class to help break her in...)

Max and Mrs. Boatright. Max might get his grades lowered because he keeps taunting his teacher by wearing his LSU sweatshirt to school...multiple times a week.

We are proud of you boys! Keep it up.
