Out of the mouth of Grant
He is? Why do you say that?
Because he's the Sun. I bet his mom's the moon so she can watch Him.
After Party
Thanks for helping us celebrate Lindsey, Kelli, little guys and Aunt Leah!
Commencement
"We learned there are 8 planets in our Solar System."
Memaw & Pepaw with the troops.
The program was supposed to last from 1:00-3:00. Nate could only miss work for an hour (his lunch break). I was told it would be better for him to be at the 2nd half since Mrs. Lewis' class would be the last to walk. Well, the whole thing only last 1 hour so Nate missed it all. We met him on the lawn outside after it was over. Stink. But, I did order the DVD being made by the SHS videoagraphers so at least he'll be able to see it some day.

Camp-out
I promise he wasn't really on fire... but the picture is a little creepy, all the same.
Those are some toasted mallows.
Winding down after lots of eating, burning things in the fire, sword fighting, light sabre attacks, running and exploration. Max was a little disappointed when told no after asking if they could go find some nocturnal animals... we told him the best our backyard could offer would be our friendly raccoon friend coming back for a visit.
So fun to be a little boy (or a big boy in Nate's case- I think he had as much fun as the little guys).

What a morning
Got up at 5:30 am to get some papers out of the car that I need Nate to fax from work. Put them by his keys and badge so he won't forget. Get up. Take trash out. Leave garage door open. Pull off our street to take Max to school. Ask my usual, "Do you have your backpack?" He responded, "No. I thought you were getting it." Turned around. Pulled into driveway just in time to see Izzi, Nate's mom's yorkie bolting out of the garage. Left the car running to go chase her. She ran. And ran. On the next street over she ran into someone's garage. I thought I had her pinned. She got away. She ran approximately 2 more blocks down the road with no regard to her name being called. Nate's mom joins the chase. Some dogs start barking and she turns around. I catch her 15 minutes after the chase began. We are now about 4 blocks away and my children are at home alone with the car running in the driveway. I am severely out of shape. Grant is waiting for us on the end of the street. Reports that Jack fell and hit his head. Max is inside putting a bandaid on Jack's forehead. We go to school. Max gets his first tardy. Head toward Nate's work to bring him the papers that he left by the front door. Start to put on make-up. Find the handle to Nate's sister's toilet in my make up bag that she had called looking for the night before. Hand off the papers to Nate. He thinks it's real funny. What a great start to my day. All because of a forgotten backpack.....
