Camp-out

The boys went camping Friday night... in our backyard. Complete with hot dogs cooked over the fire and s'mores. A true camp out isn't complete without friends to camp out so Aidan and Patrick joined in on the fun. Nate was a trooper and slept out in the tent with them even though the bigger boys were brave for a minute thinking they'd like to sleep out in the tent without any grown ups. When the sun went down they decided Nate could stay. (And no, Jack didn't sleep outside. He's not the best camper even though he really wants to be.)

Dinner.

Dessert.

I promise he wasn't really on fire... but the picture is a little creepy, all the same.

Those are some toasted mallows.

Winding down after lots of eating, burning things in the fire, sword fighting, light sabre attacks, running and exploration. Max was a little disappointed when told no after asking if they could go find some nocturnal animals... we told him the best our backyard could offer would be our friendly raccoon friend coming back for a visit.

So fun to be a little boy (or a big boy in Nate's case- I think he had as much fun as the little guys).
