Tonight at dinner:
(Grant let out a long string of gas and sheepishly looked around)
Max: What was that?
Grant: That was me.
Max: Oh, I thought it was a really loud woodpecker.
Jack: I thought it sounded delicious.
Playing in the living room:
Jack: Cannonball!
(then procedes to jump from the recliner right on to Grant who is lying on the floor)

a few pups
Adam came in to town for the weekend with his puppy, Boone. Boone and Harley wrestled for most of the weekend only taking a few breaks for chewing on someone's shoe or pooping in the house.
Sweet puppy love.
Boone is a week older than Harley but as you can see, Harley will be able to eat Boone in one bite in just a few weeks.
The boys were in dog heaven because they, of course, aren't happy with one puppy and they think we need two. I guess they don't realize that 2 puppies means double the poo which they so adamently complain about when I act out my role as mean Mom and make them clean it up.
It was suggested that Boone and Harley might be so worn out they could share a kennel to sleep in at night. That was not the case. It was more like WWE cage wrestling. Boone ended up staying in the stand-up shower. It was the perfect kennel alternative.
For some reason we always end up with pictures of Leah and a dog so we made sure to get one with both this time.

If you ever need some cheap entertainment get 3 puppies together... (well, I guess "cheap" if it's not your puppy).

4th of July... Mississippi Style
We thought, "Hey, Arkansas's not THAT hot... let's go to Mississippi for the 4th." And so, we were on our way to Natchez, MS to visit my grandparents.
(Yes, Jack had wet his pants but sometimes it's just not worth ruining a good mood to change him. The chances of getting an OK picture of boys is very limited but it is not even a possibility if Jack is crabby. Hence, the pee pants.)

(At least this time it's not in his pants... or the pool.)
After a lengthy trip and some horrible fast food experiences (at Sonic on the way down we got charged $.20 for cherry and $.5 for easy ice... seriously? So much for "happy" hour) we were at G.G. and Grandpa's!

Unfortunately, we just happened to find ourselves positioned over their ant hill. They won the battle of the land.

Fortunately, when we weren't on top of an ant hill we got to enjoy the company of G.G. and Grandpa, good food and their pool. Sweet serenity.

(At least this time it's not in his pants... or the pool.)Gotta love the RODEO
The boys love going to the rodeo. Nate and I love it too, for that matter. For the past couple years we've been gone around the 4th so we've missed the Rodeo of the Ozarks. This year, not only were we in town for opening day but Nate's cousin, Casey, was in it which made it even better.
Grant was the only one who wanted to get all decked out in his cowboy gear. Such a cute little buckaroo.
Poor Casey only lasted 2 seconds before he was flipped over the head of the bucking bronc. At least it was an interesting dismount.
