Grant's Special Day

Grant wanted to go to a Razorback basketball game for his "special" daddy-son day. Nate and I searched for tickets for the last weekend game... which just so happened to be sold out weeks ago. Finally, on Friday Nate was able to buy some tickets from a co-worker. After church, father and son, dressed in Razorback gear, filled with anticipation of the day, headed over to the arena for all the pre-game festivities and their "day of fun".

They explored the arena getting autographs of the 1994 championship team. They got pom poms. G got his face painted. G got some cotton candy which for some reason he said tasted funny and he didn't eat it. Weird...

Then, 4 minutes before half-time Nate heard the dreaded words, "Daddy, I think I'm going to throw up."

Yep. He did. A couple times... and also experienced some other stomach issues. Poor Grant was physically ill and Nate was sick he didn't get to see any of the second half of what turned out to be a victory (finally) for the often sickening to watch Hogs.

Since they road to the game with the Essens, father and son, dressed in their Razorback gear, filled with stomach virus and gloom, circled the arena around 5 times waiting for the game to end.

G had a little episode of puking fun in the Essens car on the way home. Nate said the quote of the night after that incident was G saying, "I'm not really having fun."

We're sorry little man. Really, really sorry... we haven't felt your pain yet but know it's probably only a matter of time.

We are supposed to be getting our new carpet this week. We're taking wagers on how soon after the carpet is installed that Jack is affected by this little bug.
